The Future of

Cushioning.

AirString is the leader in LLDPE 3D cushion technology across a wide range of industries in the USA — from correctional institutions to military, medical, and beyond. Founded in 2013 and manufactured by Spec-Tex Inc. in Coral Springs, FL, every product we make is committed to one thing: continually improving people's lives with new and innovative solutions.

The Origin

Why Airstring Exists

The problem wasn't just comfort. It was a system built to fail — so facilities would keep buying.

Spec-Tex Inc. has been manufacturing textile products for institutional environments since 2012. For years, we watched correctional facilities spend budget after budget replacing commodity foam mattresses that degraded within 18 months — mattresses that couldn't be cleaned, couldn't be searched without destruction, and harbored bacteria by design.

We knew the materials science existed to build something better. The LDPE 3D open-loop core we engineered for the Airstring mattress had never been applied to institutional bedding. It was a construction familiar in industrial filtration — durable, washable, structurally permanent, and completely transparent to visual inspection.

The question wasn't whether it would work. The question was whether the industry would accept a product that eliminated the repeat-purchase cycle it depended on. We built it anyway.

What We Stand For

Three Principles. No Exceptions.

From a textile manufacturing company to the most technically advanced institutional mattress in the country.

01

Engineer, Don't Iterate

Every Airstring product starts from a problem statement, not a product category. We don't reskin commodity materials. We re-engineer the solution from first principles — even when it means building something the market doesn't know it needs yet.

02

Transparency Over Sales

Our breathability data is published. Our core is visible through the cover. Our guarantee is in writing. We don't ask facilities to trust us — we give them the data to decide for themselves, and we stand behind the result unconditionally.

03

Build for Decades, Not Quarters

The 10-year guarantee isn't a marketing promise — it's an engineering commitment we can only make because of how the product is built. Every production decision prioritises long-term structural integrity over short-term margin.
